Green Silicon Carbide

Green silicon carbide is produced in the same way as black silicon carbide, but with different requirements for raw materials. Green silicon carbide is made of petroleum coke and high-quality silica as the main raw material. It is added with salt as an additive and is smelted by high-temperature resistance furnace. The mark of green silicon carbide is usually GC, the crystallization is α-SiC, with hexagonal or rhombohedral crystal type, containing SiC around 99%.

Green Silicon Carbide Content
  • Green Silicon Carbide is a high-purity silicon carbide, which is a more friable crystal than Black Silicon Carbide. Green silicon carbide macrogrits are typically used for processing hard alloy, metallic and non-metallic materials with hard and brittle feature such as copper, brass, aluminum, magnesium, jewel, optical glass, ceramics, etc. The microgrits are used for wiresawing semiconductor materials, lapping, fine bonded and coated applications composites, refractory materials, precision ceramics, kiln furniture and other critical applications.
  • DOMILL Abrasive offers a full range of grains and powders in green quality as well as various particle size distributions based on ISO, FEPA, ANSI, JIS and GOST standards, or by customer’s specific requirement.
