Monocrystalline Alumina

Monocrystalline alumina, as known as blue single crystal fused alumina, which is a fused abrasive produced by fusing high purity alumina with special alloys. Each particle is a single crystal with nano-layered structures. It appears light blue color and multi-edged with strong toughness, strong hydrophilicity, high hardness characteristics.

  • Monocrystalline alumina’s high hardness and well grown and superimposed structure create numerous and durable cutting edges, which lead to dramatically improved performance when compared to white fused alumina or pink fused alumina. Compare to general abrasive, it has longer life, higher grinding and cutting efficiency and better finish.
  • It's mainly used for making advanced resin bonded cutting wheels and contributes to sharper cutting action, and for making grinding wheel widely working on quenched tool steel, high speed steel, bearing steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, titanium steel, vanadium steel and such materials with high hardness and toughness.
  • It also can be used for making coated abrasives, especially for making non-woven wheels.
