Black Fused Alumina

Black fused alumina is made by fusing high aluminum bauxite, high iron bauxite and other elements in an arc-furnace. After crushing and sizing of black fused alumina crude, various grains and powders are available to meet different requirements. Black fused alumina has the characteristics of good self-sharpness, less heat on the surface of work-pieces when cutting, grinding and polishing, which makes them avoid burning and has a good finished surface.

  • The typical application of black fused alumina is lapping and polishing, especially suitable for the surface polishing treatment of various work-pieces. It is often used for polishing bamboo wood, glass, copper aluminum alloy, hardware tools, especially stainless steel surface, is not easy to burn it, and the finished surface presents uniform color consistent with the essence of stainless steel.
  • For making resin bonded abrasive, black fused alumina is generally composited with aluminum oxide, zirconia alumina and silicon carbide, to get resin thin wheels and snagging wheels.
  • For making coated abrasives, pure black fused alumina fine grits are composited with aluminum oxide, zirconia alumina and silicon carbide, to get jumbo rolls and then converted into flap wheels and sanding belts for polishing. Black fused alumina is also used to make sanding sponge and non-woven wheels, sharpness improved meantime, the durability has increased.
  • Black fused alumina can be used as wear-resistant floor, thanks of its sub-light black, non-reflective appearance and good wear resistance. It also suitable for making anti-skid road surface aggregate, In the road section requiring high wear resistance and anti-skid performance, the parking lot bends sharply, and the anti-skid layer will be laid on the bridge deck and floor.
